2016 space coast birding festival19th ANNUAL SPACE COAST BIRDING AND WILDLIFE FESTIVAL

The 19th Annual Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival is scheduled for January 20-25, 2016. Festival headquarters will be Eastern Florida State College – Titusville Campus. With more than 100 photography activities, this festival is for those who record natural events – in the class, in the field and on the ocean – all taught and led by some of the finest photography professionals in the world. The festival will include regular field trip adventures, celebrity birders, tons of trailer trips, free activities, an art show, socials, exhibits, the Raptor Project, afternoon seminars, and the Fox Lake Sunday Social. Scores of passionate speakers, field trip leaders and volunteers – all here to help you enjoy your experience.

The kids are the stars at this fundraiser for Brevard County’s High School Culinary Programs as they prepare a seafood feast at the historic shrimp dock at Port Canaveral, FL.  Enjoy Live Cajun Zydeco music while culinary students fire up the grills and Cajun cooking pots to prepare three styles of oysters, steamed crabs and shrimp and grilled fish.  Beer and wine will be available for purchase.  There will be drawings for great prizes. The Brevard County Renaissance Faire offers fun for the entire family. Talented artisans and craftspeople from all over the country will display and sell a variety of goods, including blacksmithing, pewter jewelry, stone carvings, wood-working, weaving, hand-blown glassware, leather crafts and much more. Watch knights in armor jousting on the tournament field, or enjoy a show at one of 3 stages with continuous entertainment. Kids will enjoy pony rides, and games of skill including shooting arrows and throwing battle-axes. United Launch Alliance will launch an Atlas V rocket, designated AV-057, for the United States Air Force for the Global Positioning System. Experience the rumbling, the countdown and the magnificent sight of a rocket launch before your very own eyes. The Beach Boys are a beloved American institution that remains iconic around the world. Between 1963 and 1968, The Beach Boys garnered eleven Top 10 singles, including “Surfin,” “I Get Around,” “Help Me, Rhonda”, “California Girls” and the song Rolling Stone named ‘the Number One Song of the Century’ – “Good Vibrations.” In 1988 The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and ten years later, in 1998, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The Beach Boys were recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2001 and are ranked by Rolling Stone at number twelve on their 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list.

The Canaveral Seafood and Music Fest will kick off the New Year with fresh seafood, live music, an arts and crafts show and much more February 26th to the 28th. This three-day event will feature country music mega-star Clint Black, the chart-topping Dirty Heads and reggae legends the Original Wailers, Third World and Kash’d Out. The nation’s most talented seafood vendors and restaurants will be bringing their greatest seafood dishes to the Port Canaveral Seafood and Music Fest.
